The Wall is a small rock music themed bar with brick walls adorned with such fun items as a guitar and a crawling alligator. If you are walking around near the Place de contrescarpe, you can't miss it. It has small indoor seating that spills out front onto a patio that was packed tight around 8.30 every night, even during random weekdays, and they blare loud music that rocks the block.

It's a small, casual place. They have a large list of cocktails, but avoid those, they are terrible. Don't let that deter you, though, because this is one of the best places to get a great deal. They offer €6 50 cl beers for happy hour, including a delicious, high abv mcchouffe.

Bonus points for the soft orange string lights giving the bar a soft, romantic glow. Minus bonus points, though, because on both of our visits, the bathrooms had no toilet paper.

The cheapest beer in the area, that's all there is to say. The atmosphere is not awesome, and it's frequently packed but hey, did I mention the cheap beer?

This bar has cheap pints (some beers are as cheap as 3.50, which is REALLY cheap in the Rue Mouffetard area) however, that is about the only perk to this place. It gets HORRENDOUSLY crowded to the point that you'd have to have some kind of Alex Mack style incident to get through all of the people. I got a cigarette dropped on the top of my foot. Not that this will happen to you, but it's what happens when a bunch of drunkards congregate in one place. The service was slow, and the bouncer was practically a nazi trying to keep people with drinks on the terrace. I literally saw him chasing people down the street.

The worst part of all? The bathroom. First off, the door to it was extremely hard to open from the outside unless you have good nails and are lucky enough to find the right angle to pull at. Then, if you do manage to get inside, there is a girl's toilet with NO toilet paper, which means you have to go back out to the bar to get some. When I asked for it they literally rolled me off a couple dozen squares and handed it to me. Once I finally got back in, did my business, then went to wash my hands only to see a guy peeing because at the sink your back is literally to the urinal (or should I say hole in the floor?)

This place only earns a star back for me because when I told a French guy about it he said one of my favorite lost in translation quotes of all time. He told me I should get a device so I can pee standing up outside, and when explaining it said, "You put it in your sex and then you can pee where you dream!" I realize that this had nothing to do with the bar itself, but it made my day. That and I'm hungover from the cheap beer.
